I am a fifth-generation Unitarian Universalist born and raised in Northern Virginia. In May 2011, I graduated from the Meadville Lombard Theological School, a Unitarian Universalist seminary in Chicago, earning two academic awards in Philosophy of Religion and Religious Education. In the years before entering seminary, I was a very active lay-leader at my home congregation, the UU Congregation of Fairfax, in Oakton, Virginia where I served on the Board of Trustees, Stewardship Committee, and Family Activities Coordination Team. I was also active as a Worship Associate and Lay Minister for Worship and Arts. As a professional religious educator, I served as the Youth Ministry Coordinator for the River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation and as the Coordinator of Youth Activities for the Joseph Priestley District of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Northern Virginia Community College in 2005. I earned a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami, and did my ministerial internship training at the UU Fellowship of Boca Raton and the UU Church of Fort Lauderdale. Prior to being called as the full-time settled minister at the UU Congregation of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia, I served as the Consulting Minister for the UU Fellowship of Marion County in Summerville, Florida, and as the Program Coordinator for the Florida District Racial Justice Council. I served on the Steering Committee for the UU Allies for Racial Equity for six years, and I am a trained responder for the UU Trauma Response Ministry Team.
